Global Warming
Most scientists believe recent global warming has been generated by human influence on a naturally-occurring phenomenon called the greenhouse effect. Each of us have a part to play, since are daily activities emit Carbon Dioxide (CO2) which contribute to the Greenhouse effect, leading to rising world temperature. Future trends may depend on our awareness and the action we take to modify our lives. Both scientists and environment campaigners say the human impact on the climate can be reduced by the action we take.
Green and eco friendly products
We have a strong belief in protecting the environment; where possible products are manufactured using environmentally friendly material. We have researched all of our suppliers to ensure they adhere to the strict guidelines in our quest to offer quality products that are safe for our children’s environment.
Wood industries typically use solvent based paints, these use petroleum compound, which is obtained from petrol-chemical refinement. Therefore, not only CO2 is released into the atmosphere from utilising under ground fossil fuel, but industrial refining further adds heat and gas, to the atmosphere. Post-production waste also has to be treated by waste management specialists.
Our products use raw materials that are self sustaining and water based, wood paints and lacquers that are non toxic.
Rubber-wood is used in the production therefore, no deforestation is involved, rubber wood is a replenishable source and accepted world-wide as an environmentally friendly material. A rubber wood toy is considered the final gift from the rubber tree. After 25 years a typical rubber tree loses its ability to produce latex; it therefore, must be cut down before replanting. In the past these trees were considered useless once they stopped producing and were either burnt or converted in charcoal. Today with modern techniques they can be re-used.
This is a perfect example of recycling, the concept of making good use of what was in the past simply discarded, every part of the tree is employed to its fullest utilisation. Along the production process, the re-use and recycling of waste is also important. Wooden waste can be used in the making of:
